Royal Catchup- Part 1: Swedish Academy Gathering

First off, I will apologize for the delayed post- I have been under the weather... Napping a few times a day and not doing much else. I finally am feeling better and have the energy to write a post or 2- I shall do just that.

First is our last major event of 2015- The Formal Meeting of the Swedish Academy in Old Stockholm. This event is held annually and typically attended by the entire Royal Family- this year was no exception. Queen Silvia was the first lady to step out of a car wearing a brown fur coat over a brown dress. She appeared to be wearing the short pearl and diamond earrings.

Crown Princess Victoria rewore a black velvet dress first seen at the same event in 2011 while she was pregnant with Princess Estelle. No idea who the designer of this gown is. She carried a LK Bennett clutch she has had for many years. For jewels, she wore part of the diamond earrings from Brazilian Parure. In her hair she wore the flower brooch from the same parure. Her brooch is a diamond and pearl brooch with a a pearl drop first seen on Queen Victoria.

Princess Sofia, wore a new dress from Viktoria Chan and a faux fur coat from Moris Stockholm. Her earrings come from Caroline Svedbom. Her gold clutch comes from H&M. Her brooch is one that I don't recognize so I don't have anything to share about it. Sofia also debuted a new short hair cut that looks amazing on her!

Finally, Princess Madeleine wore one of her gowns from Ida Sjöstedt with a By Malina fur coat. She carried a black clutch from Bottega Veneta. She wore in her hair a pair of diamond earrings last seen on Queen Silvia in 2012 if my memory serves correctly. She wore her custom pair of diamond and pearl drop earrings from La Campanina Capri.

Which was your favorite outfit from the night? I just couldn't pick- everyone brought their A Game!

Sofia and Carl Philip are Expecting a Child!

Today the Royal Palace announced today that Princess Sofia is pregnant! The official statement says...
"Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are delighted to announce that The Princess is expecting their first child.
Princess Sofia is feeling well and the birth is expected to take place in April of 2016.
"We are so happy and excited to announce that we are expecting our first child. We are very much looking forward to it," says Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia.
No changes in the schedule of The Prince Couple's public engagements are planned during the fall of 2015."
The Court also released 2 photos in connection to this news. The Court has commented saying that the family has known for a bit but wanted to wait to announce the news until after Prince Nicolas' christening so that the focus would be on him. The entire royal family is thrilled with this news.

For this new photo, Sofia is wearing a top from Viktoria Chan.

Opening of the General Synod

On 22 September, Sofia and Carl Philip joined the King at the Opening of the General Synod in Uppsala. The service was led by the Bishop of Lund Johan Tyrberg. The General Synod is Sweden's largest religious governing body with 251 members who come from all throughout Sweden. It is an annual event and almost always a member of the Swedish royal family attends. This was Sofia's first time attending and I believe Carl Philip's first time as well.

Sofia wore a new dress from Viktoria Chan and carried a clutch from Dagmar. Her shoes appear to be her nude Saint Laurent's but they could be Kurt Geiger- it is hard to tell. Her earrings come from Mrs. Mi.

The Posse is Back Together!

Today the entire royal family, minus Chris and the grandkids, attended the opening of parliament!

Madeleine flew in from London for this occasion and returned to London this evening, missing the traditional attendance at the Royal Opera House.

Let's get right down to fashion and jewels (because that is what this blog is about and I still need to eat dinner before my class!). Note- dress code for the opening of parliament is black and white- hence the outfits!

Queen Silvia wore a black jacket over what imagine to be a black suit. Her shoes appear to be Salvatore Ferragamo. She wore a pair of pearl and diamond earrings from the Bernadotte collection as well as the Diamond and Pearl Ivy brooch which can be dated all the way back to Queen Victoria. For the performance this evening she traded her black suit for what appears to be a navy gown.
Funny enough the blue velvet coat she wore over it upon arrival she has had since 1977! Check out this magazine scan I have of her wearing it back then!

Which coat appearance did you like better?
Crown Princess Victoria re-used her Milly Jacket from when she attended Parliament while pregnant with Estelle, honestly that is what I expected her to do. She carried a clutch from Hunkydory. Her earrings are from Kreuger Jewellery.

For the performance this evening, she also re-used her short Adrianna Papell dress from earlier in the year.

Sofia attended parliaments opening for the first time as an official princess, last year it was a few short months after being engaged!
For the Opening of Parliament she wore a black and white jacket from Maje and carried a clutch from Hunkydory.

Later in the evening, she changed into a blue sleeveless dress from Ole Yde which she wore a black cape from Viktoria Chan over. Her shoes come from Jimmy Choo.

Princess Madeleine is last up in our review.
She wore a jacket from Paule Ka today over a black Paule Ka dress.
