Glad Nationaldag!

Today, June 6th, is Sweden's National Day! June 6th was chosen for two reasons, in 1523 Gustav Vasa was elected King, laying the ground work for Sweden to be come an independent state, and in 1809 Sweden adopted a new constitution. In 1916, the day was given the title of Flag Day, marking that Sweden had acquired its own flag after the separation from Norway. The day has been celebrated since 1983 as National Day, however it was not celebrated as a public holiday until 2004.

Today the royal family is participating in a variety of events throughout the country. However before we even get to those, let's look at the adorable photos that the Royal Court published this morning. These photos, taken by Kate Gabor, feature Estelle, Oscar, and Victoria out in the yard of Haga Palace. These photos have become a tradition every year, a photo of Estelle in the national dress has come out every year since she could walk. I cannot wait until Oscar is included wearing the Swedish National Dress as well- but for now we will have to settle for overalls.

In these photos, we see Victoria wearing a gold disk necklace, which reader Katrina has found to be from Dulong Fine Jewelry. This Danish brand is most associated with Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and Katrina suggested that perhaps it was a gift from Mary and Frederik to Victoria. I think it is a good possibility! Her dress is from Ralph Lauren (Thanks Ella!)

Oscar's overalls/dungarees come from Mayoral.

Next up in the day was Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, and Prince Alexander opening the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
Sofia is wearing the national dress, without the head covering, and on her feet she is wearing a pair of black low heels with bows on the toe- which we first saw last year when visiting Värmland.

Next up in the day, was Victoria and Daniel attending a ceremony for new Swedish citizens receiving their passports. These kinds of ceremonies are held every year, all over the country, on National Day. Last year Victoria and Daniel also attended one in Uppsala.
For this, Victoria wore her English Garden Print Dress from Oscar de la Renta, carried her Abro woven clutch, and wore what appears to be Dior pumps. Her earrings are from Kreuger Jewellery and she wore a diamond pendant necklace, which was for the most part, hidden under her dress.

This evening, the family took a carriage ride down to the concert at Skansen and then will return to the Palace to participate in the tattoo ceremony with invited guests. (for some reason, Getty does not have any photos of the King and Queen in the carriage processional yet- but they were there!)

All the ladies are wearing the National Dress, established in 1983. The white folded caps on their heads are worn only when they are married, which makes this Sofia's first time wearing one. Estelle wore a braided crown on her head- typical for young girls. Sofia and Madeleine chose to wear non-traditional shoes, which normally results in an article griping about this in some tabloid. Let's save that discussion for a different place- so if you comment complaining about their shoes- I will remove it. Sofia wore the same shoes as she did this morning, and Madeleine wore a pair of black heels- which she wears every year. Sofia's earrings come from Engelbert Stockholm, while her sisters-in-law chose to wear diamonds and pearls.

UPDATED: Oscar's Christening!

Today was the big day, Little Prince Oscar was christened! The entire family was out in full force bringing us lots of little antics, laughs, and smiles. From Estelle pouring in the baptismal water, to little Nicolas and his toothbrush- it was a fun service! If you did not get a chance to watch it you can go check out the recording here.
Victoria wore a new white dress from Self Portrait - By Malina now says it is theirs...UPDATE: The dress is from their AW16 Pre-Fall Collection which will be in stores Mid-June. ( It has been a real struggle to find the dress but it is beautiful!!) Her earrings come from Kreuger Jewellery and her shoes come from Gianvito Rossi. Her white hat featuring feathers and a net veil was made by Philip Treacy.

Next up we saw Princess Madeleine who was one of the godmothers to little Prince Oscar. She carried Leonore upon arrival and had her hands full with her throughout the entire service. Leonore danced around, played with her little toys, and even managed to tip her chair over!

Madeleine wore a new blush colored dress from Roksanda. She wore the diamond earrings from Queen Josefine's Diamond Stomacher. Her shoes are the same pair that she wore to Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia's Marriage Bans Ceremony and come from Jimmy Choo.

Princess Sofia arrived looking amazing- one of the quickest ways to my heart is by wearing a cape and she did just that! I really hope this is not the last time we see this dress because it is just fantastic- and the color looks amazing on her!
Sofia wore a light blue dramatic dress from Antonio Berardi, she carried a small Valentino studded clutch. It appears that she is wearing the same earrings from the King's Birthday and wearing her nude colored Yves Saint Laurent shoes.

Now onto the little ones! Estelle arrived with her parents looking like a proud big sister! She told reporters that it went well afterwards. Wearing her own hairpiece and a string of pearls, she certainly looked like the royal she is!

Estelle wore a white dress featuring flower details from Charabia Paris she also carried a bag from the same brand.
Leonore and Nicolas were both attending in blue and white (yet-to-be-identified) ensembles. I have looked through my photo archives and do not see their outfits in published photos of Carl Philip, Madeleine, or Victoria but that does not mean they are not old pieces.
Queen Silvia- how did I almost forget her! She arrived in a blush pink color which meant she was able to wear her newest gems to her large impressive collection. These jewels she debuted a little over a year ago and they are stunning!

UPDATE: Her bag and shoes come from Jimmy Choo, and is still available to be purchased on FarFetch and Bergdorf Goodman, respectively.

This post will be updated throughout the day with more details but I wanted to give you what we know right away!

Sophiahemmet for Sofia!

Today, Princess Sofia handed out the honors to Sophiasysters at Sophiahemmet- a private hospital in Stockholm. Sophiasysters are graduates of the Sophiahemmet University, a school for nurses to get their education. Once they have graduated to trained nurses they are called Sophiasyster or a "Sophia Sister". You may recall that Princess Sofia took over as Honorary President of the hospital, succeeding her Aunt-in-Law (if you would like to give it a label) Princess Christina, Mrs. Magnusson. Princess Christina was president from 1972 until the beginning of this year.

Sofia wore a new dress from Goat Fashion (Found by the Always Fabulous Rebecca). This red dress features a raised neck and near side bow, 3/4 length sleeves plus Goats signature side seam pockets. She paired it with her nude pumps from Kurt Geiger and diamond pave hoops from Engelbert Stockholm.

Don't forget that tomorrow is Prince Oscar's Christening! The Godparents were announced this morning (Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mette Marit, Princess Madeleine, Oscar Magnusson, and Hans Åstrom) and the guest list was released (sans Personal Friends and Court Staff). I will be up bright and early (actually it won't be bright when I get up...) and will be commenting live on Twitter and if you tune into Expressen you just might see me there as well. It is going to be a fabulous time and with the promise of 4/5 cousins in attendance you can be sure there will be some chaotic moments!

UPDATED: Prince Couple at the Royal Palace

Today the Prince Couple greeted Jeffrey Katzenberg at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Jeffrey is an American Film Producer who has produced fims such as Shrek, Shrek 4-D, and the Road to el Dorado. He is currently visiting Sweden ahead of the release of the film, Trolls, and is going to attend the Eurovision Song Contest Final.

A photo posted by Kungahuset (@kungahuset) on

The Prince Couple also met with reporter Roger Lundgren. He writes that he was also introduced to Prince Alexander who slept peacefully through their meeting. I imagine there has been a little nursery made at the Palace for all these babies who are being born. I would think that both Sofia/Carl Philip and Victoria/Daniel are bringing their little ones to work with them.
Princess Sofia is wearing a dress from Prada which she first wore to the opening of the Princess Lilian Exhibition back in August. She wore an *interesting* navy coat from Gant over the dress. Her necklace is from Emma Israelsson.

Prince Alexander! (and Family)

Yesterday the Prince Couple released photos of Prince Alexander in connection to Prince Carl Philip's Birthday. These series of 5 photo were taken in Drottningholm Palace and on the grounds around the palace. These photos were taken by Erika Gerdemark, who also took the couples Engagement Photos, Wedding Photos, and now their new family photos. I suspect she has come the Prince Couple's photographer as both of his sisters seem to have their go-to photographers. (Crown Princess Victoria - Kate Gabor, Princess Madeleine- Brigitte Grenfeldt)

The photos also feature another member of their little family- Siri!

In the first selection of photos, Sofia is wearing a new white dress from Lindex. In the final photo she is wearing a top from H&M and trousers from Tiger of Sweden. Her shoes are not Gianvito Rossi as has been previously reported- the heels are not the same. The pumps are currently a UFO (unidentified fashion object) but we are trying to identify them and when that happens we shall update the blog!

First Day of the State Visit from Chile

Today both Victoria and Sofia joined the King and Queen alongside their spouses to welcome the President of Chile to Sweden! This State Visit will be from today until Thursday and although only the King and Queen are listed on the Court's Calendar, I imagine this is not the last we have seen of either Victoria or Sofia.

Today, both ladies joined in in welcoming the President Michelle Bachelet to the Royal Palace and attended a lunch at the Palace. They posed for photos before dining and that is what you see below.

Victoria wore a new blush pink dress from The Fold London and a new pair of blush pink shoes from Acne! (Thanks Johanna for the comment!) Due to the fact that I have only seen this photo so far it is hard to say but I believe that she is wearing her Philip Treacy headpiece first worn to Princess Leonore's Christening. Victoria also appears to be wearing a brooch that she has had for a few years from the Marni for H&M Collection.

Princess Sofia wore a matching white dress and jacket which she paired with her Manolo Blahnik pumps. These pink pumps she first wore during her Nobel's Debut back in 2014.

This post will be updated as we get better photos and more ID's are made so stay tuned for that!

UPDATED: Happy 70th Birthday King Carl Gustaf!

Happy 70th Birthday to King Carl-Gustaf !!

Today is a big day of celebrations in Sweden , starting with a Te Deum at the Royal Chapel for the King !
Foreign guests includes King Juan-Carlos & Queen Sofia of Spain, Queen Margrethe and Princess Benedikte  of Denmark, Prince Albert of Monaco and Princess Takamodo of Japan to only say a few.
Prince Daniel & Princess Sofia parents were also there as well as Chris' mother.
Around 10am, the Royal Family entered the chapel. The entire family was there including Princess Sofia ( who will only take part in the day events) and Princess Estelle.
Then, an Armed Forces celebration took place outside the Royal Palace where Princess Beatrix to the Netherlands, Prince Frederik and Princess Mary of Denmark and Princess Martha-Louise & Ari Behn of Norway joined the guests of the Te Deum and the Royal Family.

Victoria wore a new white coat from Ida Sjöstedt Couture (Confirmed on Instagram) with a Dolce & Gabbana dress with a new pair of black pumps from Aquatalia and her Nancy Gonzalez clutch. Princess Estelle wore a white dress and jacket with a light blue coat. Victoria's hat comes from the SS16 collection from Philip Treacy. Victoria's earrings are one of her favorite pairs from Kreuger Jewellery.

Princess Estelle wore a matching jacket and dress set from the brand Charabia (Thanks Beka)! This is not the first time Estelle has worn Charabia, she wore a dress from the brand last year under her Purple Coat to Victoria's Name Day. Charabia is a French brand but the designer is Swedish!

Princess Sofia made her first official appearance since the birth of her son Prince Alexander. She looked lovely and you could hardly tell she gave birth just a week or so ago!

She wore a new coat from By Malene Birger with a new Hugo Boss dress. She paired it with new snakeskin pumps by the new Swedish brand Stinaa J. The brand opened this month so Sofia is the first public person to wear their shoes ! Her clutch is new and from the British brand Vintage Styler.

Princess Madeleine flew in from her home in London (she may have actually flown in from the United States as that is where she was last week) to attend the birthday celebrations. While I was hoping to see the kids, they have yet to make an appearance.

Madeleine wore a new Alexander McQueen coat with a new dress from Giambattista Valli (Thanks Anna from Expressen), black shoes, and her Bottega Veneta clutch. Her hat is from Philip Treacy- just like Victoria's.

Silvia wore a new pink coat with red shoes & bag. Thanks to Ellen, Queen Silvia's shoes are from Manolo Blahnik. I suspect Her hat is from Philip Treacy London but I cannot find a stock photo of it online. (Philip Treacy's Official Instagram Account confirmed that it is indeed their design).
