Glad Nationaldag!

Today, June 6th, is Sweden's National Day! June 6th was chosen for two reasons, in 1523 Gustav Vasa was elected King, laying the ground work for Sweden to be come an independent state, and in 1809 Sweden adopted a new constitution. In 1916, the day was given the title of Flag Day, marking that Sweden had acquired its own flag after the separation from Norway. The day has been celebrated since 1983 as National Day, however it was not celebrated as a public holiday until 2004.

Today the royal family is participating in a variety of events throughout the country. However before we even get to those, let's look at the adorable photos that the Royal Court published this morning. These photos, taken by Kate Gabor, feature Estelle, Oscar, and Victoria out in the yard of Haga Palace. These photos have become a tradition every year, a photo of Estelle in the national dress has come out every year since she could walk. I cannot wait until Oscar is included wearing the Swedish National Dress as well- but for now we will have to settle for overalls.

In these photos, we see Victoria wearing a gold disk necklace, which reader Katrina has found to be from Dulong Fine Jewelry. This Danish brand is most associated with Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and Katrina suggested that perhaps it was a gift from Mary and Frederik to Victoria. I think it is a good possibility! Her dress is from Ralph Lauren (Thanks Ella!)

Oscar's overalls/dungarees come from Mayoral.

Next up in the day was Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, and Prince Alexander opening the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
Sofia is wearing the national dress, without the head covering, and on her feet she is wearing a pair of black low heels with bows on the toe- which we first saw last year when visiting Värmland.

Next up in the day, was Victoria and Daniel attending a ceremony for new Swedish citizens receiving their passports. These kinds of ceremonies are held every year, all over the country, on National Day. Last year Victoria and Daniel also attended one in Uppsala.
For this, Victoria wore her English Garden Print Dress from Oscar de la Renta, carried her Abro woven clutch, and wore what appears to be Dior pumps. Her earrings are from Kreuger Jewellery and she wore a diamond pendant necklace, which was for the most part, hidden under her dress.

This evening, the family took a carriage ride down to the concert at Skansen and then will return to the Palace to participate in the tattoo ceremony with invited guests. (for some reason, Getty does not have any photos of the King and Queen in the carriage processional yet- but they were there!)

All the ladies are wearing the National Dress, established in 1983. The white folded caps on their heads are worn only when they are married, which makes this Sofia's first time wearing one. Estelle wore a braided crown on her head- typical for young girls. Sofia and Madeleine chose to wear non-traditional shoes, which normally results in an article griping about this in some tabloid. Let's save that discussion for a different place- so if you comment complaining about their shoes- I will remove it. Sofia wore the same shoes as she did this morning, and Madeleine wore a pair of black heels- which she wears every year. Sofia's earrings come from Engelbert Stockholm, while her sisters-in-law chose to wear diamonds and pearls.

Nobel Prize Ceremony

Today is the long awaited Nobel Ceremony. The Nobel Ceremony is held in Stockholm with the Royal Family in attendance. Note this is not the same as the Nobel Peace Prize which was held Oslo this morning. Nobel Ceremonies is one of my favorite days of the Royal Calendar because it means new gowns and lots of tiara bling! And let me tell you- The Swedish Ladies did not disappoint!

First off, can we talk about Queen Silvia’s new red gown- it is STUNNING! I love it and think she pulled it off beautifully! And we were right- the 9 Prong came out tonight! This tiara originated with Queen Sofia of Sweden and it’s more proper total is the Queen Sofia Diamond Tiara- I just call it the 9 Prong because it reminds me of reindeer antlers… She wore the Karl XIV Johan diamond earrings as well. Her necklace appears to be the Briljantcollier med Hänge (Diamond Necklace with Pendant. The pendant was a legacy to the Bernadottes from the Gustavian royal family. Her brooch appeared to be the ruby brooch that the family has. I do not know the history behind that brooch.

Crown Princess Victoria looked stunning a violet gown. It featured a v-neck cut dress with a matching sheer cape over the top. She delighted us again with the Connaught Tiara- I love it. I hope now it will become a regular. She wore the 2 bracelets from the Amethyst Parure as a necklace which we have seen done by others in the family before. She wore the matching earrings from that set. She also appeared to be wearing the brooch from the set in her hair. Her bracelet is the diamond zig-zag bracelet (It does not have an official name but it is a zig-zag pattern). She carried a Bottega Veneta Clutch.
UPDATE: Her gown comes from By Malina- it is a specially made Aubergine Silk Chiffon Gown and Cape.

Princess Sofia stunned again by wearing an Oscar de la Renta gown (Nice Find Heaven!!) She wore her wedding tiara once again and this time paired it with emerald and diamond earrings which I suspect were apart of the wedding gift from the Royal Couple. UPDATE: she borrowed from Queen Silvia. You can see Silvia wearing them here. She wore the stunning Queen Victoria’s Braganza Brooch on her front.
Princess Madeleine wore a STUNNING grey gown which I suspect was made by Fadi el Khoury (UPDATE: SVT said it was from Fadi el Khoury and Fadi himself told me that it was from him!). I am in love with it. I legit just teared up when I saw the full length of it. I am in love… Anyway she pulled out the biggest surprise by wearing the Aquamarine Kokoshnik tiara owned by her Aunt- Princess Margaretha. She wore Queen Silvia’s diamond flower earrings. And bless her heart- She really is trying to kill me- She wore the aquamarine ring that Princess Lilian left her upon her death in 2013. She appears to carry a clutch from Jimmy Choo.

Princess Christina pulled out a dress I believe she has worn before and I was right- she came in the 6 Button Tiara. She pulls off this tiara fantastically! Her brooch on her sash was a diamond and pearl brooch that she has had for many many years.

That is all for now- I shall update as we find out more information and see more photos.

Polar Music Prize 2015

Today both the Royal Couple and the Crown Princess Couple attended the 2015 Polar Music Prize Ceremony and Banquets in Stockholm. They were joined by Princess Christina and her husband Tord Magnusson- but I have yet to see any photos that I can use yet.

Queen Silvia's gown is not new. It is made by Gnyuki Torimaru aka Yuki- one of Silvia's go to gown designers. Crown Princess Victoria on the other hand debuted a new gown from Dagmar. Her shoes were YSL, clutch Anya Hindmarch, and Earrings are from Oscar de la Renta. Her bracelet she has had since at least 2013 and huge shoutout to Isabelle for correctly identifying it as Lulu Frost.

One Busy Day

Today Victoria had an extremely busy day. She started out the morning by joining Crown Princess Mette Marit and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway at the EAT Forum in Stockholm. The website says, The vision of EAT is a transformation of the global food system to sustainably feed a healthy population of nine billion people by mid-Century. This makes sense that Victoria would attend because she is quite involved in the topic of sustainability. We have seen her attend a number of engagements over the past few weeks dealing with sustainability and environmental issues.

After attending this forum, Victoria joined her parents and Daniel for lunch which is apart of the continuation of the Indian State visit that will be going on for the next 2 days. She wore the same dress as this morning and changed the sweater to a more structured jacket. I am poking around for it now.

Onto the fashion- Victoria looked absolutely smashing today. She debuted a new dress, which thanks to a Twitter follower, is from Oscar de la Renta. She paired it with her Dior pumps and a matching clutch that I am wondering is also from Dior. I shall check into that this evening.

UPDATE: The dinner held by the King and Queen brought some surprises, disappointments, and a 3 beautiful ladies. Queen Silvia debuted a new dress which surprised me because she normally uses old favorites for state visits. I was not a fan of the dress but the jewels made me love her anyway. She wore the 9 Prong tiara with the Karl XIV Johan earrings. She also wore the Diamond Collier with pendant.

Victoria rewore her Elie Saab green sequin dress from the Nobels and paired it with the Cut Steel Tiara, a diamond necklace and Queen Josephine's Stomacher Earrings. I am not a fan of the hair in this look and think it looked better at the Nobels but I am glad she pulled it out again.
Sofia wore a new black gown from YDE Copenhagen which I am in love with. She just looked amazing. Her hair was beautiful from the back as well. She really has not stepped in the wrong direction lately. Her earrings are emeralds from Ebba Brahe a brand we have seen Victoria wear.

Which look did you like best?
