Glad Nationaldag!

Today, June 6th, is Sweden's National Day! June 6th was chosen for two reasons, in 1523 Gustav Vasa was elected King, laying the ground work for Sweden to be come an independent state, and in 1809 Sweden adopted a new constitution. In 1916, the day was given the title of Flag Day, marking that Sweden had acquired its own flag after the separation from Norway. The day has been celebrated since 1983 as National Day, however it was not celebrated as a public holiday until 2004.

Today the royal family is participating in a variety of events throughout the country. However before we even get to those, let's look at the adorable photos that the Royal Court published this morning. These photos, taken by Kate Gabor, feature Estelle, Oscar, and Victoria out in the yard of Haga Palace. These photos have become a tradition every year, a photo of Estelle in the national dress has come out every year since she could walk. I cannot wait until Oscar is included wearing the Swedish National Dress as well- but for now we will have to settle for overalls.

In these photos, we see Victoria wearing a gold disk necklace, which reader Katrina has found to be from Dulong Fine Jewelry. This Danish brand is most associated with Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and Katrina suggested that perhaps it was a gift from Mary and Frederik to Victoria. I think it is a good possibility! Her dress is from Ralph Lauren (Thanks Ella!)

Oscar's overalls/dungarees come from Mayoral.

Next up in the day was Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, and Prince Alexander opening the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
Sofia is wearing the national dress, without the head covering, and on her feet she is wearing a pair of black low heels with bows on the toe- which we first saw last year when visiting Värmland.

Next up in the day, was Victoria and Daniel attending a ceremony for new Swedish citizens receiving their passports. These kinds of ceremonies are held every year, all over the country, on National Day. Last year Victoria and Daniel also attended one in Uppsala.
For this, Victoria wore her English Garden Print Dress from Oscar de la Renta, carried her Abro woven clutch, and wore what appears to be Dior pumps. Her earrings are from Kreuger Jewellery and she wore a diamond pendant necklace, which was for the most part, hidden under her dress.

This evening, the family took a carriage ride down to the concert at Skansen and then will return to the Palace to participate in the tattoo ceremony with invited guests. (for some reason, Getty does not have any photos of the King and Queen in the carriage processional yet- but they were there!)

All the ladies are wearing the National Dress, established in 1983. The white folded caps on their heads are worn only when they are married, which makes this Sofia's first time wearing one. Estelle wore a braided crown on her head- typical for young girls. Sofia and Madeleine chose to wear non-traditional shoes, which normally results in an article griping about this in some tabloid. Let's save that discussion for a different place- so if you comment complaining about their shoes- I will remove it. Sofia wore the same shoes as she did this morning, and Madeleine wore a pair of black heels- which she wears every year. Sofia's earrings come from Engelbert Stockholm, while her sisters-in-law chose to wear diamonds and pearls.

UPDATED: Oscar's Christening!

Today was the big day, Little Prince Oscar was christened! The entire family was out in full force bringing us lots of little antics, laughs, and smiles. From Estelle pouring in the baptismal water, to little Nicolas and his toothbrush- it was a fun service! If you did not get a chance to watch it you can go check out the recording here.
Victoria wore a new white dress from Self Portrait - By Malina now says it is theirs...UPDATE: The dress is from their AW16 Pre-Fall Collection which will be in stores Mid-June. ( It has been a real struggle to find the dress but it is beautiful!!) Her earrings come from Kreuger Jewellery and her shoes come from Gianvito Rossi. Her white hat featuring feathers and a net veil was made by Philip Treacy.

Next up we saw Princess Madeleine who was one of the godmothers to little Prince Oscar. She carried Leonore upon arrival and had her hands full with her throughout the entire service. Leonore danced around, played with her little toys, and even managed to tip her chair over!

Madeleine wore a new blush colored dress from Roksanda. She wore the diamond earrings from Queen Josefine's Diamond Stomacher. Her shoes are the same pair that she wore to Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia's Marriage Bans Ceremony and come from Jimmy Choo.

Princess Sofia arrived looking amazing- one of the quickest ways to my heart is by wearing a cape and she did just that! I really hope this is not the last time we see this dress because it is just fantastic- and the color looks amazing on her!
Sofia wore a light blue dramatic dress from Antonio Berardi, she carried a small Valentino studded clutch. It appears that she is wearing the same earrings from the King's Birthday and wearing her nude colored Yves Saint Laurent shoes.

Now onto the little ones! Estelle arrived with her parents looking like a proud big sister! She told reporters that it went well afterwards. Wearing her own hairpiece and a string of pearls, she certainly looked like the royal she is!

Estelle wore a white dress featuring flower details from Charabia Paris she also carried a bag from the same brand.
Leonore and Nicolas were both attending in blue and white (yet-to-be-identified) ensembles. I have looked through my photo archives and do not see their outfits in published photos of Carl Philip, Madeleine, or Victoria but that does not mean they are not old pieces.
Queen Silvia- how did I almost forget her! She arrived in a blush pink color which meant she was able to wear her newest gems to her large impressive collection. These jewels she debuted a little over a year ago and they are stunning!

UPDATE: Her bag and shoes come from Jimmy Choo, and is still available to be purchased on FarFetch and Bergdorf Goodman, respectively.

This post will be updated throughout the day with more details but I wanted to give you what we know right away!

Day 2 of State Visit

Today is the 2nd day of the State Visit from Chile to Sweden. The day started with the King and President attending a Business Forum organized by Business Sweden and ProChile at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm. The forum was created in hopes to highlight the two country's mutual desire for cooperation in the areas of sustainable mining, transport, healthcare, as well as energy and environmental technologies.

After this forum, Victoria, Daniel, and Carl Philip joined for a lunch held at Stockholm City Hall hosted by the President of Stockholm's City Council and the Finance Commissioner. Later today the President will host a response dinner at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm.

For the lunch at the City Hall, Victoria wore a white brocade dress from the British Brand, Suzannah. You might recall that the Countess of Wessex wore a similar dress from this brand not too long ago. Victoria paired it with her white Ralph Lauren bag and a pair of white heels which look to be from Gianvito Rossi. In her hair, Victoria wore a hairpiece that I believe is new but we will have to wait for our Royal Hat Expert to weigh in on that! She accessorized with a necklace and pair of earrings from Kreuger Jewellery.

Holocaust Remembrance Events

Today Victoria and Sofia both took part in events which were held in Remembrance of the Holocaust and the its' victims. Victoria this morning handed out grants from Micael Bindefeld's foundation, "Micael Bindefelds Stiftelse till minne av Förintelsen". This foundation gives grants to those who continue to work to spread the story of the Holocaust and make sure it is never forgotten.

Victoria wore a new coat from Day Birger et Mikkelsen over a black dress. DAY was kind enough to send me a photo of the coat and informed me that it is apart of their SS16 Native Line which is an all fair trade and handmade Line. She carried her Valentino Bag and wore jewelry from Kreuger Jewellery (earrings, bracelet, and a necklace). She wore black booties again- not from af Klingberg but another pair that she has been wearing a lot- I have no clue where they come from.

Later in the evening, Sofia attended a service at Stockholm Synagogue in remembrance of the Holocaust.
She wore a new trench coat and black dress which appears to have some floral appliqué detail on the sleeves. She finished the look with black pumps and a pouch bag.

UPDATED: 25th of January: Sofia and Victoria

Today, Victoria was at Viksjö School in Järfälla to hear a lecture given by Emerich Roth. Emerich Roth is a Holocaust Survivor and goes around to schools telling about how he cheated death repeatedly during World War II. He and Victoria have met before, most recently last year on the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. After his lecture, Victoria joined him in walking around to see the students presentations. This lecture was a part of the schools peace and democracy work with its' students.

Victoria wore her Whyred Grace Silk Top with the same long black blazer she wore last Thursday. She wore a pair of black booties which have not been identified yet. We saw the same boots last Monday (I had previously got them confused with her af Klingberg boots but they are not the same). She carried her Valentino Bag and wore Kreuger Jewellery earrings, necklace, and bracelet.

Later tonight Sofia and Carl Philip will attend the Sports Gala. I will update this post when photos become available- so stay tuned! Sofia and Carl Philip arrived on the red carpet and looked smashing.
Sofia, whose bump is now very visible, wore a new blue gown that we suspect to be CONFIRMED to be from Greta. She wore new earrings from Zara (Thanks World of Royals for finding these!), and carried the same clutch that she did to Nicolas' Christening (any one have an idea on the designer?). She appears to be wearing blue pumps but I have no idea on their designer.

Have a great rest of your Monday!

400 Years of Clocks

Dear Blog Readers,
May I take this moment to be honest with you? In the past 5 days I have written 5 posts, spent 4+ hours writing and editing this blog, and many other hours pouring myself into research on the Swedish fashion and on the royal family. I am honestly burnt out. (Don't forget- I am a full time university student with 2 majors and a concentration/minor.) But when I come online and see you all interacting with the site, commenting, just visiting the pages- I get the stubbornness to keep it up and write another post. Which is what I am about to do now. I sincerely thank you readers for taking time to interact with the site and checking out what I am I posting.
Tack så mycket!
-Sarah

Now back to our regular post! Today Victoria joined her parents and her paternal aunt (Princess Christina) at the Royal Palace to open the exhibition- I tiden- Kungliga klocken under 400 år - loosely translated to "With the Time- Royal Clocks in 400 Years". This exhibition celebrates the King's 70th year of life by displaying one of his interests- clocks and watches. The King and Queen have selected numerous historic and private clocks and watches to put on display, including some which belonged to former Kings!

Victoria wore a black dress (no ID) under a Fuschia coat. This coat she has had for 5 years at least and sadly it has never been identified. She wore her af Klingberg boots and carried a black clutch (no ID). The only notable jewelry she wore was a leather bracelet from Kreuger Jewellery. (She wore a similar bracelet in a lighter color on Victoriadagen in 2015)

January 21- A Busy Day for Princesses

Today was a busy day for Princesses All Around.

Let's start with Madeleine who owned the Paparazzi this morning by posting her own photos of her Vacation while getting a perfect jab in at them ignoring the families privacy. Go Madeleine!

Family time, sadly interrupted. What a pity we weren't just asked for photos, because here are some sweet ones.
Posted by Princess Madeleine of Sweden on Wednesday, January 20, 2016
In one of the photos, she can be seen wearing a super cute Beach Cover-Up from Juliet Dunn London. In the photos you can also see Leonore in some Livly Bows and a dress from Marie Chantal! One photo featuring Nicolas with Madeleine shows him wearing a bodysuit from Marie Chantal as well!

Next up we will go to Crown Princess Victoria who attended one of the concerts during the Young Music at the Palace which we discussed yesterday.

A photo posted by Kungahuset (@kungahuset) on

Later in the day, she visited Futebol da forca (IFK Tumba Football Club) and observed a training session. The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation supports the work that Tumba does.

She wore pants for the first time (for a public engagement) in many months today. I have no ideas on the outfit besides for that her bag is from Valentino and her shoes are Yves Saint Laurent. Her earrings come from Kreuger Jewellery.

Finally we are at Princess Sofia, who handled out the medals to Sophiasysters. On January 1st, she took over from the King's sister, Princess Christina as honorary chairman of Sophiahemmet.

She wore a beautiful new lace dress from H&M Maternity Line, over which she wore her Max Mara jacket from the Te Deum before the wedding. I think she is wearing Yves Saint Laurent pumps. Her bracelet comes from Pearls of Freja. (Credit for finding this dress goes to @PRINSESSANSOFIA on Twitter)
