Prince and Princess Party

Today Madeleine and Leonore hosted a Prince and Princess Party for 12 children from Min Stora Dag. Madeleine has been Min Stora Dag's Patron for over 5 years and has long been doing engagements and attending events with them. She has even got her family involved with the charity- we have seen the King and Crown Princess both host audiences for children the charity helps with. If my American Readers are familiar with the Make a Wish Foundation, that is the American equivalent to Min Stora Dag. For the rest of my readers, Min Stora Dag grants "wishes" for seriously ill children around Sweden.

At this Prince and Princess Party guests were told to dress in their royal attire and they were welcomed to the Royal Palace by Princess Madeleine. They dined on juice, cake, and cookies and were entertained by Tobbe Wizard, a popular children's entertainer in Sweden. The children were treated like royalty.

I am not going to lie- this is probably my all-time favorite event the Swedish Royal Family has ever held (and that I am aware of- it that is a couple thousand I have read about). Madeleine didn't just put on a pretty day dress but she pulled out my *FAVORITE* gown and wore her best jewels. She gave the kids a real life Princess. And while she was wearing all of this- she got down on the floor to play with the kids. Let me repeat that- She was down ON the floor, playing with the kids, in her ONE-OF-A-KIND, who knows how expensive, beautiful gown. Madeleine wins an award. She just raised the level of expectations to a new level. I really hope this becomes an annual event because it was just so sweet.
If I have not convinced you yet how precious this even was, watch this video from Min Stora Dag.

Madeleine wore an almost identical copy of her Nobel Outfit this year- her Fadi el Khoury gown with her Aunt Margaretha's Aquamarine Tiara. She did wear a new pair of drop chandelier earrings. Madeleine looked amazing. Leonore came in a pink princess dress and fit right in with the rest of the guests.

Nobel Prize Ceremony

Today is the long awaited Nobel Ceremony. The Nobel Ceremony is held in Stockholm with the Royal Family in attendance. Note this is not the same as the Nobel Peace Prize which was held Oslo this morning. Nobel Ceremonies is one of my favorite days of the Royal Calendar because it means new gowns and lots of tiara bling! And let me tell you- The Swedish Ladies did not disappoint!

First off, can we talk about Queen Silvia’s new red gown- it is STUNNING! I love it and think she pulled it off beautifully! And we were right- the 9 Prong came out tonight! This tiara originated with Queen Sofia of Sweden and it’s more proper total is the Queen Sofia Diamond Tiara- I just call it the 9 Prong because it reminds me of reindeer antlers… She wore the Karl XIV Johan diamond earrings as well. Her necklace appears to be the Briljantcollier med Hänge (Diamond Necklace with Pendant. The pendant was a legacy to the Bernadottes from the Gustavian royal family. Her brooch appeared to be the ruby brooch that the family has. I do not know the history behind that brooch.

Crown Princess Victoria looked stunning a violet gown. It featured a v-neck cut dress with a matching sheer cape over the top. She delighted us again with the Connaught Tiara- I love it. I hope now it will become a regular. She wore the 2 bracelets from the Amethyst Parure as a necklace which we have seen done by others in the family before. She wore the matching earrings from that set. She also appeared to be wearing the brooch from the set in her hair. Her bracelet is the diamond zig-zag bracelet (It does not have an official name but it is a zig-zag pattern). She carried a Bottega Veneta Clutch.
UPDATE: Her gown comes from By Malina- it is a specially made Aubergine Silk Chiffon Gown and Cape.

Princess Sofia stunned again by wearing an Oscar de la Renta gown (Nice Find Heaven!!) She wore her wedding tiara once again and this time paired it with emerald and diamond earrings which I suspect were apart of the wedding gift from the Royal Couple. UPDATE: she borrowed from Queen Silvia. You can see Silvia wearing them here. She wore the stunning Queen Victoria’s Braganza Brooch on her front.
Princess Madeleine wore a STUNNING grey gown which I suspect was made by Fadi el Khoury (UPDATE: SVT said it was from Fadi el Khoury and Fadi himself told me that it was from him!). I am in love with it. I legit just teared up when I saw the full length of it. I am in love… Anyway she pulled out the biggest surprise by wearing the Aquamarine Kokoshnik tiara owned by her Aunt- Princess Margaretha. She wore Queen Silvia’s diamond flower earrings. And bless her heart- She really is trying to kill me- She wore the aquamarine ring that Princess Lilian left her upon her death in 2013. She appears to carry a clutch from Jimmy Choo.

Princess Christina pulled out a dress I believe she has worn before and I was right- she came in the 6 Button Tiara. She pulls off this tiara fantastically! Her brooch on her sash was a diamond and pearl brooch that she has had for many many years.

That is all for now- I shall update as we find out more information and see more photos.

Designer Spotlight: Fadi el Khoury

I figured I would try to do some feature posts from time to time and see how you all like them. Today, let's look at one of the Swedish ladies go-to couture designer. Swedish-Lebanese designer Fadi el Khoury is just that. He is one of the few Swedish couture designers out there and one of the Swedish ladies favorite. He is not just a favorite of Madeleine and Victoria- Marianne Berandotte, Rebecca Ferguson, Martina Bonnier, and Renata Moncalieri. For Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip's wedding he dressed 15 guests! Talk about popular! It is easy to see why he is such a favorite, his designs focus on simple tailoring and the beauty comes in through the layers and the fabric/embroidery used. (In addition to all this he is super helpful and responds to his emails timely and very kindly)

Who can forget Crown Princess Victoria's gown from Princess Madeleine's wedding? The greige rosé with tones of eggplant dress was made of hand dyed sided silk organza with layers of hand-colored tulle in three shades, silk threads, lurex threads, pearls and Swarowski crystals of amethyst and opal gray. It sounds just as amazing as it was.

Remember Princess Madeleine's two dresses from the Nobel Festivities last December? They both were from Fadi el Khoury and they were stunning as well. The main dress was described as a dress built on layers of silke organza and Italian tulle in shades of greige rosé. Embroidery was done by hand with glass beads, and hand dyed in shades of taupe and burgundy.

The next day she wore a gown described to be a dusty pink dress with lace and tulle. It took me awhile to track it back to Fadi el Khoury but now that I have, I can see his style in the dress. It features classic tailoring that hid Madeleine's pregnancy very well.

Fadi also designed another gown for Victoria which she first wore to a friends wedding in the summer of 2013 but then she officially wore it again for the King's dinner for the Nobel Laureates in December. This gown is described as being a dress of gold lame and tulle with embroidery of gold sequins. This same gown as also worn by a guest, a coworker from Childhood, at Princess Madeleine's wedding.

In addition to designing gowns, Fadi has also designed a dress for Victoria which she wore in August 2012 when opening up the Mercedes-Benz Stockholm Fashion Week. She opened his show in a special ceremony and then sat and watched in the front row. I thought it was nice that she wore his dress to show support as it was his first showing at Stockholm Fashion Week.
Victoria later removed the detail from the shoulder and wore the dress again under a coat designed by Fadi when attending the wedding of Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg & Stephanie de Lannoy in October 2012. She was a smashing success with this outfit.
That brings the grand total pieces that Fadi has designed for our favorite Swedish Ladies to 6 and I know that we will see more pieces in the future. I am crossing my fingers for a gown at the Nobels this year by him! We know he can do maternity wear well considering he hid Madeleine's bump last year! Which of these pieces is your favorite? Leave a comment and let me know!

Day 2 in South Korea

Victoria and Daniel have finished up their 2nd day in South Korea which included 2 outfits for Victoria. She looked stunning in both and I am interested to know which one you liked best!

Victoria's first outfit consisted a new floral hair embellishment, By Malene Birger shoes and skirt, Kreuger Jewellery Blommor Earrings, and her Fadi el Khoury coat. Her blouse she has had for some time but I do not know the designer.

Her 2nd outfit looked almost identical to what she wore to her nieces christening in June. She rewore her Dolce & Gabbana dress and shoes, carried the same UFO bag, and just traded out the earrings for her stunning floral drops.

Confirmation from Fadi el Khoury

I have spent my morning sending emails back and forth with various designers and I can confirm that Fadi el Khoury is the designer of both of these gowns. This is probably not news to you as it was suspected but I just wanted to make sure. They are beautiful dresses!

I must say that out of all the designers I have conversed with over time- Fadi el Khoury has been the nicest and the quickest in returning my emails. I love these gowns too!
